Tech bytes for april and may 2023

Dear Blog Readers,

Welcome to tech bytes for the months April and May. I apologize for the delay in sharing this, as I have been occupied with my school work for the past two months. Nevertheless, I am excited to bring you the latest stories from around the world on AI technology advancements. Here are the key highlights:

Anthropic has created Claude, a new AI chatbot that is similar to ChatGPT but with more duties. Unlike ChatGPT, Claude is intended to provide as little detrimental outputs as possible. ChatGPT has been shown to provide biased, damaging, or incorrect information when trained on publically available internet data. Anthropoc experts are working to create a chatbot with fewer prejudices and potential harm, and Claude is their latest invention. More information on Claude can be found on their website: https://www.anthropic.com/index/introducing-claude

Google, interestingly, has invested $300 million in Claude.

With a new tool dubbed Firefly, Adobe has integrated AI capabilities into its image production software, Photoshop. Users can use this application to create inventive graphics utilizing AI-generated content. CNN has a video regarding Firefly available here: https://www.cnn.com/videos/business/2023/05/23/adobe-photoshop-ai-image-generator-tool-firefly-firstmove-intl-vpx.cnn

Universal Music Group (UMG) has teamed with Endel, an AI music start-up, to empower artists in creating soundscapes that improve the well-being of listeners. Endel's generative technology enables musicians to create fresh variations of their work, build unique sounds, and even construct songs that are constantly evolving to represent their distinctive style. Importantly, this AI technology works in tandem with human input, which is referred to as "Human-in-the-Loop." That concludes the updates for now. We will reconvene in June with more exciting news related to AI.
